Dr Bhavesh Sachdev is a Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading. He trained at St Marys Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial Healthcare, London, and is experienced in all aspects of General Cardiology with a sub-speciality in Interventional Cardiology.
He provides a wide spectrum of General Cardiology advice which includes palpitations, chest pain, breathlessness, dizzy spells, and blackouts, as well as the implantation of pacemakers and loop recorders. Dr Sachdev provides the steer for atrial fibrillation management for the Royal Berkshire Hospital and West Berkshire GP's and has provided local guidelines. His special interest includes high blood pressure management, including performing catheter-based renal denervation at Royal Berkshire Hospital. He also focuses on assessing cardiovascular risk, heart age, and strategies for preventing heart disease.
Dr Sachdev was trained in dedicated Interventional Cardiology programmes at St Marys Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial Healthcare, London, where he was appointed as the Senior Interventional Fellow.
He was selected for the prestigious Interventional Fellowship at the Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, France, where he spent a year under the guidance of the internationally renowned cardiologist, Dr Jean Fajadet.
Dr Sachdev is skilled in simple and complex angioplasty and stenting through both the radial and femoral routes. He routinely uses intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT) and physiology (FFR/iFR) to guide management and optimise patient outcomes.
Additionally, he has expertise in Rotablation and Shock-wave techniques for managing difficult-to-open, calcified arteries. He is also accredited in CT Coronary Angiography, which he uses to assess and plan interventional procedures.
