Dr. Sumeet Sharma is a highly experienced Consultant General and Interventional Cardiologist, currently serving as the Clinical Lead for General and Interventional Cardiology at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. With a wealth of expertise in managing complex coronary interventions, he also holds an honorary NHS contract at St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospitals, where he performs advanced percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures.
Dr. Sharma's medical journey began with an MBBS degree with distinction in 2002. He subsequently gained MRCP and trained in cardiology on the esteemed South Thames Cardiology Rotation, including at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, Royal Sussex County Hospital (Brighton), and King’s College Hospital. His specialist training in interventional cardiology equipped him with advanced skills in managing coronary artery disease using the latest techniques and technologies.

Dr. Sharma was awarded a prestigious clinical MD Research Fellowship to study cardiovascular risks in high-risk dialysis patients. His research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, including the European Heart Journal, and has been presented at leading international cardiology conferences in the USA and Europe. He remains actively involved in clinical research as a Principal Investigator in multiple multinational randomized controlled trials.
Dr. Sharma is also dedicated to medical education and mentorship, playing a key role in training junior doctors, trainee cardiologists, and medical students.
