Dr Naeema Ginwala-Hasan is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust. Her areas of expertise include the management and prevention of ischaemic heart disease (including angina and heart attack), blood pressure and cholesterol management, coronary artery intervention, CT coronary angiography, and aortic valve disease. She also has special interests in metabolic cardiology, medical education, and global health.

She has a special interest in aortic valve disease and actively participates in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures. Dr Ginwala-Hasan is accredited in cardiac CT, which she conducts routinely.
In addition to English, Dr Ginwala-Hasan is fluent in Spanish and Gujarati, allowing her to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
Originally from the United States, Dr Ginwala-Hasan is Ivy-league educated, having graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with her bachelor’s degree. She completed her internal medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City and passed the American Board of Internal Medicine exams before moving to London.
During her Cardiology training in the UK, Dr Ginwala-Hasan trained at some of London’s most prestigious hospitals, including Harefield Hospital and the Imperial College system.
Dr Ginwala-Hasan has a longstanding academic background, having published articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international conferences in both the United States and Europe, and contributed to textbook chapters. She is an active member of the London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust research department, where she has been a principal investigator on major industry studies.
Dr Ginwala-Hasan was the first female cardiologist in her department at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust and remains the only female interventional cardiologist amongst her colleagues. She is known for her clear communication, warm bedside manner, and keen clinical eye.
She ensures that her patients receive comprehensive and thorough evaluations, always involving them in key medical decisions regarding their care.
